With the rank of Commander, is the leader of the team. He pilots the Black Lion, the Lion that forms the head and torso of Voltron. His color, no matter whether it's his uniform or his usual clothes, is red.
BLaCK LioN
Power Source:
The Power Crystal is infused with the power of the LIGHTNING that streaks the stormy skies.
Position on Voltron:
Head / Body
Hiding Place:
On top of the Lion Monument across the Lake that surrounds the Castle of Lions.
Weapons
Proton Missiles:
Launched from a rocket launcher tube appearing on command at the lion's front leg (shoulder) joints. Occasionally, a launching device will appear atop the lion's back. Commonly used weapon.
Laser/Ion Knife:
A three bladed knife/sword which appears in the lion's mouth (held by the teeth).
Missile Deflector Wing:
The wings of the Black Lion may be detached and used as defense for any of the Lions, including Black Lion.
Crest Ray:
This is a powerful beam of light energy projected out from the crest-plate on Black Lion's chest.
Spinning Laser Blades:
A spiked wheel of blades appearing at the front leg (shoulder) joints and propelled toward the enemy. Usually fired in pairs.
LaNCe
Is second-in-command on the team when Sven was injured. He pilots the Red Lion, the right arm of Voltron, the one most often handling the sword. Lance has a quick temper and tends to be the loner of the team, though he and Keith are best friends.
ReD LioN
Power Source:
Power Crystal is infused with the elements found in a raging FIRE.
Position on Voltron:
Right Arm (*NOTE: This is USUALLY where the Blazing Sword is held).
Hiding Place:
Somewhere beneath the fiery volcano on Arus.
Weapons
Proton Missiles:
Missiles fired from a three-tube unit which appears at the front leg (shoulder) joint.
Laser/Ion Knife:
A two bladed knife/sword which appears in the lion's mouth (gripped by the teeth).
Lion Torches:
A powerful column of flames which in shot out of the lion's mouth.
Atomizer:
A device which allows the Red Lion to rearrange it's molecular structure so that it can become part of an object (example: a gold statue).
Eye Beams:
Tractor (or magnetic) rays shot from the eyes of the lion.
SVeN
Is the oldest on the team and is the second-in-command. Sven is the calmest on the team. His color is black, and he was the original pilot of the Blue Lion. He was severely injured by one of the first robeasts sent to Arus, and was out of action for a time, leaving a place open in the Force, which Allura eventually took. Sven though was reunited with his friends in the future episodes. The story line put him as a slave who had escaped prison living on Planet Doom. In the final Voltron episode he helps the Voltron Force defeat King Zarkon
BLue LioN
Power Source:
Power Crystal infused with elements found in WATER.
Position on Voltron:

Somewhere at the bottom of the Lake surrounding the Castle Of Lions.
Weapons
Laser/Ion Knife:
Three bladed knife/sword held in the lion's mouth (gripped by the teeth).
Laser/Ion Darts:
Razor-sharp darts shot from launching units appearing on the front leg (shoulder) joints, or from a retractable launcher on the lion's back.
Water Blast:
A powerful column of water propelled from the lion's mouth.
Rip Claws:
The individual claws of the lion's paws can be fired like missiles.
Ice Grid:
More of a Defensive weapon, missiles be fired from leg (shoulder) joint-mounted launchers can create a grid or wall on solid ice. Can also be used to directly freeze enemy ships.
Proton Missiles:
Missiles fired from leg (shoulder) joint launcher units, or a back-mounted launcher.
Eye Beams:
Tractor (or magnetic) rays shot from the lion's eyes.
PiDGe
The youngest of the Force - the "boy genius" type. He pilots the Green Lion, the left arm of Voltron. Though a few years younger than the rest, Pidge's fighting skills are as sharp as any of the Force. He specializes in the martial arts (while others of the team prefer different methods of hand-to-hand combat, such as Keith swordfighting and Lance and Hunk fistfighting). His best friend on the Force is Hunk, and he's is the one that tries to keep Hunk out of trouble - succeeding surprisingly often. Yet he has other good friends in the castle -- the space mice, who he seems to be able to communicate with.
GReeN LioN

Rocket Grenades:
These are explosive mini-rockets which look like little spiked balls. Shot from various locations on the Green Lion, including launching ports on its back and front leg (shoulder) joints.
Tail Laser:
The tip of the tail can fire a powerful laser ray.
Ion/Laser Knife:
Two bladed knife/sword held in the lions mouth (gripped by the teeth).
Macro Darts:
Razor-sharp darts fired from rotary unit on the lion's front leg (shoulder) joint. (*Note: Similar to the Yellow Lion's Rotor Missiles).
Tornado Blaster:
A powerful column of swirling wind can be projected from the lion's mouth.
Eye Beams:
Tractor (or Magnetic) rays shot from the lion's eyes.
HuNK
Pilots the Yellow Lion, the left leg of Voltron. Hunk has the biggest appetite and the shortest temper of the Force. He'll pick a fight at a moment's notice, and he'll be one of the first ones in battle. It's usually up to his best friend, Pidge, to restrain him, which can be comical considering their size difference!
YeLLoW LioN

Power Crystal is infused with the MAGMA that thrashes within the planet itself.

Out on the sands of the Desert.

Laser/Ion Knife:
A single (1) bladed knife/sword held in the lion's mouth (gripped by the teeth).
Proton Missiles:
Missiles fired from either a back-mounted launcher, or a launcher appearing on command at the front leg (shoulder) joints.
Rotor Missiles:
Yellow Lion's primary weapon, these small missiles are fired from a rotating launcher appearing at the front leg (shoulder) joints. (Usually the missiles are fired in sets of three).
Star Duster (or Sand Blast):
A powerful blast of super-heated sand/dust projected from the lion's mouth.
Rip Claw:
The entire paw/claws can be fired like a projectile weapon.
Eye Beams:
Tractor (or magnetic) rays shot from the lion's eye.
PRiNCeSS ALLuRa
Pilots the Blue Lion, the right leg of Voltron. Took Sven's place after his injury. She is the current heir to Planet Arus and the Castle of Lions. Her father who was killed by King Zarkon, spirit remains with the castle and protects the area. She is often sought after by Prince Lotor.

VoLTRoN'S SPeCiaL ATTaCKS
Blazing Sword
Voltrons main weapon, wielded by Lance in Red Lion, Green Lion and Red Lion clash together and form an omega sword that strikes fear in all enemies.
Lion Head Attack
Here's where Voltron fires either two or four of the limb lion heads at an attacker. They've been used as explosives or to cut free of a Zarkon trap.
Flame Tongue
The lion arms each have the ability to shoot flames from their mouths toward an enemy.
Eye Beam
Voltron fires a beam out of his eyes to attack his enemies.
Cross Beam
The cross emblem of Voltron's chest emits a blast of energy in the shape of a cross.
Crusher Ball
Materializing on command, the crusher ball was a spiked black ball with a retractable chain.
Rip Claw
The digits of each individual lion's claw can be launched like little darts.
Lion Lariat
Materializing in the same manner as the Blazing Sword, the Lion Lariat is a lasso pulsating with energy.
Missile Deflector Wing
Usually just announced offensively as "Wing Attack", the Black Lion unfolds his wings and launches them like a boomerang, sometimes times in order to protect other lions from attack.
Electrosaber
Basically the two halves form on Voltron's back and then the arms reach to grab the two halves and put them together. It's one long saber with blades on both ends.
Missile Launchers
Each of the individual lions had their own missile launcher that materialized on command. Hunk and Allura specifically had Rotor Missiles, and Keith had a single large missle launcher.
Neutron Needles
Concentrated burst of needles that are fired from Voltron's ears.
Energy Weapons
In addition, each of the lions has an energy weapon which materializes on command and is wielded in the teeth of the lion against an enemy.
Atomizer
The atomizer allows a lion to phase shift its molecular chemistry in order to pass through solid objects.
Tail Lasers
Each of the lions could bring their tail over their back and fire a laser blast. Other vague definitions: a "Neutron Shield" and fire from the Black Lions' Head.
FoRCeS OF DooM
KiNG ZaRKoN
King Zarkon is the Supreme Ruler of Planet Doom. He is feared by many people, including most of his own. He is merciless and has only one goal: TOTAL CONQUEST OF THE UNIVERSE. He utterly hates the Voltron Force, and especially hates being beaten by them. He does not tolerate failure. Zarkon has a son, Prince Lotor (see below), whose failures he puts up with a while, and whom he imprisons once. However, Zarkon is tolerated as well...by the Drule Empire. Zarkon pays them no tribute and tends to rule his own way with his own intentions. And Zarkon will not rest until all the universe, especially Princess Allura and the Voltron Force, belongs to him.
PRiNCe LoToR
Lotor, Crown Prince of Doom is a man obsessed! He is much worse than his father, King Zarkon, as far as mercy and kindness go. Lotor also wants one thing more than anything in the universe: Princess Allura. He would destroy the universe just to have her for his own. He is arrogant, cunning, strong, and definitely not to be underestimated. He has little fear, unless his life is in danger. He plans to rule Doom someday, always thinking how he could do a much better job than Zarkon. Rumors speculate that Lotor is half-human, though it could be that he is all Drule. (info on this would be appreciated). No matter the cost though, Lotor figures that if he cannot have Princess Allura and the Universe, than NO ONE CAN!
HaGaR
Hagar is King Zarkon and Prince Lotor's right hand gal. She is a master in the fine arts of Black Magic. Need a Robeast to do your dirty work...call on Hagar. Ancient and wise, Hagar is not a person to mess with. Deep inside her, she has a good spirit which is consumed and hidden by her evil exterior. At one time, Hagar WAS good, but has since turned to evil. She knows her craft well and has no fear in using it. Even Lotor fears her. She is power hungry, willing to help either Zarkon or Lotor in order to be second in command or co-ruler of Doom. Hagar is more powerful and definitely to be feared more than either Zarkon OR Lotor.
YuRaK
Yurak is, at least for the first few episodes, King Zarkon's Fleet Commander. His job is to conquer Planet Arus, a job he seemed to be filling well until the resurrection of Voltron. He is quick tempered and insists on nothing but victory. He aspires to be Supreme Commander of the armies of Doom. He is shrewd and mean, but not too bright. He eventually fails Zarkon too many times and is made into a robeast...He then "splits" for the rest of the series (courtesy of the Blazing Sword).
